Obi1032 Failover with DUAL WAN

I have an Obi1032 using google voice.  I have a Cisco Meraki MX60 appliance which is fed with Comcast Internet and also has a Verizon 4G LTE Aircard for Failover.

When Comcast goes down my internal network failovers to use the Verizon AirCard (ISP and Public IP change), the Obi1032 stops sending/receiving calls.  If I reboot the phone it will start working immediately while on the second ISP.  Also, if I wait it out after the failover, approx 17 minutes will pass and the phone will start working normally again without a reboot.

Same is true for falling back to the comcast connection.

I would love to get this 17 min wait down to under 5 minutes.   Can anyone help me out here?

thanks

I don't have an answer but 17 minutes is 1020 seconds. Both 1000 and 1024 are magic numbers so to speak in electronics.

I would think there is a timer somewhere that resets every 1000 seconds. Searching fo VOIP and 17 minutes found this page which talks about Sip Session Timers.

I agree 100% with Lavarock7.  Now if we can find the setting we need to fix.  I'm not having any luck just yet.

Remember, GV doesn't use SIP, so, while the general theory that it is renewing the connection after some number of seconds is probably true, any SIP settings wouldn't apply.  There's no corresponding setting available in the user interface for this.

In actual day-to-day use, how often does Comcast go down?  I would hope it's not very often, and when it does, just reboot the phone.

You are of course correct that this is not SIP but rather XMPP/Jingle.  I have been thinking that the GV setup on the Obi still refers to a profile  X_ServProvProfile and there are some settings under VOICE SERVICES.  There are settings that apply to Google Voice in both places.  I had hoped one of those places contained a useful setting.
