I do not have an account with CallWithUs, but you are still allowed to make free toll-free OBi calls with them.

On OBi my username is set to my telephone number.
Even though a password was not entered, toll-free calls still work.

However the Android "CSip Simple" app seems to require both a username and an actual password. Otherwise there is an error registering.

Has anyone used the Android "CSip Simple" app with "tf.callwithus.com"? I'd appreciate your posting any tips or hints.

Much thanks.

CSipSimple must be setup without registration.
The only way I know is to use the Expert wizard, but I find it easier to define an account with the Basic wizard then switch to the Expert Wizard.
CSipSimple requires a password.
Use any dummy password, CallWithUs will ignore it.

In CSipsimple add a new account.
Select the BASIC wizard
Account name = CallWithus
User = 8005551212  (Any number for outbound callerid)
Server = tf.callwithus.com
Password = anything
SAVE

Press and hold on the account name.
When a new screen appears, select "Choose Wizard".
Select Expert.
Select your account again.
Select Registration URI and blank it out, then ok.
SAVE

Done.

Thank you azrobert. Your solution worked.

For anyone else needing a low memory Android VoIP client, "CSip Simple" also works with accounts from Callcentric and Localphone. This app uses only 2.29MB of my tablet's memory, the rest is on the SD card.

Initially I used the Zoipher app but it had a memory footprint around 20MB and none of it could be moved to the SD card.

I have Zoiper loaded on my Samsung S5 and it seems to work fine.

I checked and I agree, ion mine it takes 27mb and cannot be moved to the SD card.

Still, I like it both on the cellphone and the PC.

Thanks to this thread, I've got the toll-free calling with CallWithUs set up on an Android device with CSipSimple.

On a Windows Phone 8.1 (WP) device I have Zoiper and I cannot get the same set up to work.  Basically Zoiper seems to insist on registering, which fails since I don't need/have an account to use tf.callwithus.com

In the WP version of Zoiper I can deselect the option to register on startup, which shows the account as unregistered, but when I attempt to call a toll free number, Zoiper tries will attempt to register, which fails.

Any ideas how to perform the equivalent of removing the registration URI that works for CSipSimple?

On Windows I use Phonerlite.

Under the Server Tab uncheck Register.

Hi azrobert,

Thanks for taking the time to reply.  Unfortunately the suggestions you made won't apply because I'm not trying to configure Zoiper on Windows, but rather on Windows Phone 8.1.  Zoiper for Windows Phone doesn't seem to have settings that would allow me to turn off registration.  I've sent feedback to the developers, maybe they will let me know how to do this.
