Auto attendant question before buying obi
(1/1)
mrpepelepeu:
Hi all,
What I want to do: I need to have my clients call my Google Voice number, they listen to a welcome message (auto attendant) with my company name and asking them to hold (or whatever), and the call is forwarded to my cell phone.
As far as I know, GV doesn't have this feature.
Does OBI have it? (I couldn't find detailed info on this feature)
If yes,
1- do I need anything else other than my GV number and the obi connected to internet?
2- Do you know a link to the automatic attendant setup walk-through?
3- Can I record my own message? (seems trivial but I have no idea what OBI auto attendant feature is capable of)
4- what would I get as the caller ID?
Many thanks in advance.

Using defaults the caller would enter 1 to ring the OBi's phone port.
It would be a simple change to modify it to call your cell.
The caller must enter 1.
This can't be changed.
See this for an example on modifying the AA:

The other 2 options are make a new call and callback.
You would have a custom prompt and also disable these options.
The above link shows how.
All you need is a GV number.
Your cell would see the GV callerid.
If you have a data plan you can install an SIP softphone on your cell and receive the inbound callerid.
You could just route the inbound call to your cell, but there wouldn't be an announcement.
