I am trying to setup Obi 1032 as attendant and passing calls to Obi 202 with Speeddial. I have 3 GVs, saying GV1, GV2 and GV3. I assgined GV1 as the primary line for Obi 1032 and assigned GV2 and GV3 to Obi 202 as SP1 and SP2. I use Obitalk to Link Obi 1032 and Obi 202 and, assign Obi 1032 Speeddial ID20 and Obi 202 Speeddial ID21. I can send calls from Obi 1032 to Obi 202 without problems vs verse.

My question here is how to assign GV2 on Obi 202 SP1 as a fax number but also want to assign extensions (Speed dial) to SP1 and SP2 from Obi1032? Thanks.

I don't understand what you want.

Do you want to attach a physical Fax to the OBi202 and route inbound calls on SP1 to the Fax?

Do you want to route outbound calls from the OBi1032 to SP1 and SP2 on the OBi202?

You can define a duplicate of GV2 and GV3 on the OBi1032.

Hi Azrobert,

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, I want to attach a physical fax to OBi202 on SP1 and I also want to route inbound calls from OBi1032 to SP2 on the OBi202.
So, here is my current setup. I also link OBi 1032 with OBi202.

On OBi1032, Setup GV1 to SP1, GV3 to SP2
On OBi202, Setup GV2 to SP1, GV3 to SP2
GV1 will be my main phone number for incoming calls
GV2 will be the fax number fro incoming Fax.

So, how should I configure OBi1032 and OBi202 to route incoming calls from OBi1032 to OBi202 SP2?

Thanks a lot.

You are using the wrong terminology that was confusing me.
SP's (SP1 or SP2 for your setup) are trunks to a service provider.
Phones are connected to phone ports (PH1 or PH2)
Inbound SP calls have to be routed to a PH.
There is a default routing.

I think the following is what you are requesting.
Am I correct?

OBi1032
Route GV1(SP1) to PH1 on the OBi1032
Route GV3(SP2) to PH2 on the OBi202

OBi202
Route GV2(SP1) to PH1 on the OBi202
Route GV3(SP2) to PH2 on the OBi202

If the above is correct, I'm still confused.
Is GV3 on the OBi1032 the same account as GV3 on the OBi202?
If yes, why is it defined on the OBi1032 and routed to the OBi202?
It already is defined on the OBi202 and will ring PH2 with the above setup.

Edit:
Is GV3 defined on the 1032 for outbound calls only?
Do you want to prevent inbound GV3 calls from ringing the OBi1032, ringing only the OBi202?

Hi azrobert,

Sorry for my wrong terminology as I am still new to IP Phone System.

Yes, you are all correct and yes I want all inbound GV3 calls to ring on OBi1032 but not on OBi202 PH2 so that I can transfer the call to OBi202 PH2 as like an extension.

All inbound GV2 calls to ring on OBM202 PH1 as a fax. So, my goal here is to setup

OBi1032
Route GV1(SP1) to PH1 on the OBi1032 and can transfer calls to OBi202 GV3 PH2
Route GV3 (SP2) to PH1 on OBi1032 and can transfer calls to OBi202 GV3 PH2

OBi202
Route GV2 (SP1) to PH1 (as a Fax) on OBi202
OBi202 GV3 PH2 should be able to transfer calls to PH1 on OBi1032

All inbound GV1 and GV3 calls will only ring on OBi1032 PH1

Thanks,

azrobert
