Does Obi Phone also need Obi200/202 ?

JYLD:
If I buy an OBI Phone do I also need to buy an Obi200 or Obi202 or are the functions of the Obi200/202 built into the phone?

If I buy an OBI202 to use with my own phone can I make the built-in Obi202 router work as a switch and not issue DHCP so it doesn't conflict with my wired and wireless routers?

Thanks,

Gary

1. No, you don't need to buy any one of 202/200 if you have 1022. The only difference between OBI1022 and OBI202/200 is that OBI1022 doesn't support ring.to. Other than that, the 1022 phone is way better than an adapter(202/200)+analog phone, IMO.

2. Yes, you can disable the built-in DHCP server. This is what I did with my 202.

JYLD:
Thank you for the help.  What is ring.to?

drgeoff:
If you want a single phone, the 1022 is fine. If you want several phones throughout the house - wired extensions or DECT - the 1022 is a non-starter.

JYLD:
OK, thanks for that additional information on the 1022.  How do the 1032 and 1062 handle ringing and transferring to different wired or wireless extensions?
