Post by: beachlover on January 07, 2015, 04:38:12 PM
Ethernet cable instead of to my router, as usual, to a computer that is using WiFi to my router. Will that work ? Thanks to anyone who answers definitely.

Yes, but obviously you only have OBi phone service when the computer is running.

Many thanks to above posters. This will be a great way to use the OBi to make an outgoing call using free WiFi when I need to before my OBiWiFi adapter is delivered.

Update: when I get to clicking "bridge connections" it doesn't seem to work. Whenever I try I get "to create a network bridge you must select at least two LAN or high speed connections that are not being used by Internet connection sharing"

So I don't know how to proceed. Additional info request, if anyone knows what I'm missing.

ICS is another method you can use, so you might be already configured.
Plug the OBi into the network port on your computer.
If it's configured correctly it will take a minute or 2 to connect.

ICS is found here on Windows 7:
Network Sharing Center
Change adapter settings
Double click wireless connection
Properties
Sharing Tab
Depending on what you want to do:
Check or Uncheck "Allow others to connect..."
