I just got a used Obi100 on eBay, tried to configure it for GV and was told the firmware needed to be updated. I logged into my Obi100's web server, saw it's running version 1.3.0 (Build: 2744). Per info in the forum, I downloaded firmware 1-3-0-2886 (2.1MB). Then on my Obi100's web site, I clicked "Device Update", then I selected the "obi-latest.fw" file I downloaded, and clicked "Update". A green light on my Obi100 flashes rapidly for about two seconds, but it does not appear to be rebooting (because its lights do not go out). I wait a full minute, then check my Obi100's website, and I can see it's still using the old firmware. Why won't the firmware update to version 2886? I need GV to work!!!
Thanks..
Maybe the download got corrupted. Download again and check that the file size is exactly 2243822 bytes.
Possibly you have discovered why the item was being sold. :(

This. I would never buy a used OBi. A brand new one, with a hardware warranty, is not very expensive.
I thought there would be some work around ... I've never seen an electronic device fail so selectively.
I did confirm that the number of bytes is correct, so it's not that the downloaded firmware was corrupted.
Aaaargh!
Gave up and ordered a new Obi202 for $47.50.
