Title: Obi 212 question
Post by: ProfTech on November 09, 2017, 09:43:57 AM
At the risk of asking an un-answerable question, does anyone know if the 212 uses the same firmware as the 200/202? I'm mulling over the idea of purchasing one to replace a 110 but I don't want to be a beta tester. My 110 is working fine. Appears Obihai has taken a beating lately over the recent Google Voice fiasco but I have used GV fine with Asterisk/Simonics fine for about a year and extended the capabilities of the 110 at the same time so I'm a happy camper.  :)

I'm speculating but I'm pretty sure it uses a dedicated firmware revision (for now anyway). I believe the latest firmware revision for the OBi212 is 3.1.1 (Build: 5585LI).

A product description for the OBi212 was added to the OBiTalk web site - BUT -,
I haven't found any documentation or links to documentation on the OBiTalk
web site for the OBi212.

I would like to suggest that this would be a very good time for OBihai to make
available OBi212 documentation.

Also, this would be an excellent time for OBihai to run a promotion of the OBi212
with a discount to current OBi110 owners.  Hint, Hint!

Obihai certainly know how to make one firmware work on different models.

Obi100 and Obi110 - same firmware
OBi200, OBi202, Obi300 and Obi 302 - same firmware
OBi1022, OBi1032 and Obi 1062 - same firmware

My hunch is that even if the OBi212 and the 2xx/3xx models do not now have a common firmware, sooner or later they will.
