Title: VVX 250 OBi Edition 6.3.1 - upload background picture
Post by: ToFF on July 12, 2019, 01:27:35 PM
I'm trying to upload a custom background image to a new VVX 250 OBi edition v6.3.1

I see no option to upload an image on the OBi web portal (including Expert), the direct web portal from the phone's IP address, nor under any menu option on the phone screen to upload a picture from a USB drive.

Any one know how to do this?

Thank you!

Try this link:  https://documents.polycom.com/bundle/vvx-ip-ug-5-8/page/c-vvx-userguide-adding-personal-photos-as-your-background.html

And let us know.

Already tried that. Those options are in the UI for the Poly software, not the OBi version.

Hmmm.

Go to bottom of page 29 for "Background Images" at link:  https://support.polycom.com/content/dam/polycom-support/products/voice/business-ip-phones-obi/downloads/obi/previous-versions/archived-documents/en/obi-api-guide-6-3-0.pdf

That doesn't explain how to get the images uploaded in the first place. I'm hoping there is an equivalent OBi UI element to upload images, as in the Poly software.

Shazam, there are two completely different firmware "personalities" for the VVX series:  the legacy Polycom UC firmware, and the legacy OBiTALK firmware.  ToFF is asking about the OBiTALK firmware.

There used to be a way to upload image files, but it seems to have been removed.  I've asked someone at Poly about it.  If I learn anything, I'll post it here.
