Hi. I'm using an Obihai 110 and I have a question about how to change the Peer Name for an incoming call. On the Obihai's call history page, there is a line for Peer Name and one for Peer Number. Earlier today, I received a local call on the PSTN line. Before answering the call, it was identified by a mix of numbers and letters, which matches the Peer Name in call history. I know the incoming caller and want to change the Peer Name to the name of a person. How would I go about doing that? Thanks. Steve
An unaided Obi cannot do that.
A couple of options:
1. Some phones can search their phonebook using the incoming number and display the associated name you have stored there.
2. If using Google Voice, the $4.99 a month ObiExtras can match an incoming number to a name in your Google Contacts. Obihai offer a one month free trial of ObiExtras. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J1vIiMJIwS4
Correct me if I am wrong here, but I thought OBi1xx series (End-of-Life, no longer supported) does not, nor ever have OBiEXTRAs, only OBi2xx series, the OBi1000 series phones and OBi2000 series phones...?
Thanks!
Thanks. I have a Panasonic Digital Cordless Phone. What I have done is to delete all the incoming calls in the memory of this Panasonic phone for this one problematic caller ID. The caller ID had been like 22er6y8 ("peer name") with an 8-digit "peer number". So I entered that 8-digit peer number into the Panasonic's Phonebook and named it with something more identifiable. Hopefully, the next time a call is received from that number, the name that I have given it will be the Caller ID that is shown.

You are correct. Thanks for pointing that out.
