Title: 2182 conference call issues
Post by: wpsb on September 22, 2021, 06:55:15 PM
Since I updated to the new firmware I've had issues conferencing two lines on my 2182. The call quality degrades significantly. Seems to be happening if I have both inbound or outbound calls on my second line. Anyone else experience this and/or have a solution?

Hi.  That was happening to me, after I bypass my home firewall, the issue was cleared up.

I am having the same issue. How do you disable your home firewall? My 2182 is connected directly into my netgear router. As far as I know there is no firewall embedded or enabled. I have a firewall on my desktop but my 2182 connects directly to the router.

Anyone else having these issues?

I think bigL was referring to disabling SIP ALG on his router.  Not all routers have that, not all that do have a user control to disable it and not all use the term SIP ALG in the management screen.

If your router is a separate item from your modem you can try temporarily connecting the OBi directly to the modem.  You will need to reboot the OBi and if you have given it a static IP address, adjust that appropriately.  Obviously not a fix as the OBi will be the only device connected to the internet but a test conference or two should give some pointers.
