Title: Don't worry about being a noob
Post by: Felix on April 18, 2012, 12:12:53 PM
For some reason I see more and more questions starting with "I am new to OBi" or something similar. There is no need to do it!
First, it is usually pretty obvious from the question itself.

Second, and more important, the questions are not divided into "noob" and "experienced". The questions are divided into those that make sense and those that don't. Try to explain what you try to accomplish and how; what you expect to happen, and what actually happened. If the question sounds confusing to you - it will be confusing to the reader as well.

Last, the classic article How To Ask Questions The Smart Way (http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/smart-questions.html) is as relevant today as it was when it was written over a decade ago.

NOTE: If you've never used a telephone before - it is indeed something worth mentioning!
