Title: obi110 PSTN fail-over?
Post by: commstar on April 08, 2011, 05:47:25 AM
Hello, I've been reading the threads for releted information to no avail.
I'm planing to send a obi110 to my parents home in Mexico, but the power is always intermittent in their neighborhood. Will the call still go through from handset attached to the obi110 to the local PSTN network after or during a power outage?

Thanks in advance.

I have already tried this feature. Whenever there is outage of power to the OBi110, the phone is automatically connected to the LINE port such that you can still make ordinarly calls via the PSTN line connected to the LINE port.

Thank you very much yhfung, this will be very helpful.
They are elderly and i want this to be very transparent to the way they make and receive calls now.

Also you have to consider to let them use one-button speed dialling to make phone calls to you instead of memorising the long-digit number.
