Title: Is the new "voice service plan" now available ?
Post by: WaveRider on January 15, 2014, 09:30:52 AM
Is the new "voice service plan" now available ?

If yes, where is the sign-up info ?

If no, * WHEN * will the new voice service plan be available ? ? ?  ???

"OBi device owners will be able to sign-up for a voice service plan provided by the ITSP, for as little as $39.99 a YEAR."

Mother is soon moving into a new place and we would like to port her current landline to VoIP correctly just ONCE !!!  Please explain sign-up details to help plan the transition!  Thanks.

Not available yet. If it were, there would be a lot of forum traffic about it.

Of course Obihai is on the hush about this, but I believe  it is available. It is Anveo and does not seem to be very good.

BASIC
$39.99/year
No hidden fees. Includes all taxes.
BASIC is our lowest cost plan and is designed for users who do not make lots of calls.
$3.33/month - Billed Annually

    US or Canada phone number
    Free incoming calls
    E911
    Free voicemail
    Free Caller ID
250 outgoing minutes/month to USA and Canada

Yes, that says 250 outgoing minutes. 4 hours a month included outbound. I believe inbound is unlimited, but who cares about that. I should not have to jump through hoops to make a call. The next step up is.

BASIC PLUS
$84/year
No hidden fees. Includes all taxes.
BASIC PLUS is the best option for residential callers.
$7/month - Billed Annually

    US or Canada phone number
    Free incoming calls
    E911 with alerts
    Free voicemail
    Free Caller ID with Name
    550 outgoing minutes/month
to USA, Canada, and Puerto Rico

Still not a good deal to me at least. We can only guess this is the best they can do. I switched to Obivoice at this point.

Obihai get on the ball and work with good partners who understand they have real competition and need to compete.
