Hello,

After updating firmware to 6.2.3 (Build: 5330.1311), OBi2182 5Ghz no longer works.

OBiWiFi Setup mode no longer broadcasts. Other devices do not see the SSID.

Also, the OBi2182 doesn't show any 5Ghz networks when scanning.

Can someone please check and confirm whether this is a firmware bug?

This has happened on more than one 2182.

Thank you

Yes, I've seen the same problem. I believe it is a firmware bug that Polycom/Obihai does not wish to address.

You'd be better off using the included ethernet cable, however.

Dears,
i have the same firmware, with no problem.
i believe the problem is not in the phone firmware,
the problem is from the 5GHz WiFi AP you have. when you configure it don't use the Channel HT Mode at 80MHz just make it 40Mhz.
because the 80MHz is for AC only which is not supported by this phone.
just switch the Channel HT Mode to 40Mhz and try it.
feel free to share your WiFi access point information and i will try my best to help you solving the problem.
best regards to all

Please re-read the intial post.

OBiWifi setup mode 5GHz SSID (from OBi2182) broadcasts fine with 6.2.3 (Build: 4907.1311).
However, it doesn't with 6.2.3 (Build: 5330.1311), which was the firmware version tested, even after OBi2182 (Hardware version is 1.0)  is reset.

802.11ac is an advertised spec, regardless of whether 80Mhz is supported, but that doesn't have any bearing on this issue.

• Built-in 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 compatibility to expand connectivity options."

I have smartphones, PCs, smart devices (smart tv also couldn't find OBi2182's OBiWifi setup SSID nor connect to it when manually entered), routers, etc. None of them populate the 5GHz OBiWifi Setup SSID from the 2182 when using 6.2.3 (Build: 5330.1311) firmware for the OBi2182. All of them show the 5GHz OBiWifi Setup SSID when using 6.2.3 (Build: 4907.1311). All devices are not using the same Wi-Fi chipset.

I don't have access to 2182s to test currently, but this problem has nothing to do with access points or trying to connect or provide OBi2182 WAN access via 80MHz channels.

I bought a 2.4 wifi dongle and plugged it into the ethernet port and solved the problem. Not ideal but a workaround.
