GV alternative suggestions?

I've been using GV for many years on my Obi2182 and have been happy with the service.

From what I've been told I can keep using it until basically, something goes wrong ... so... I'd like to have a backup plan in place.

I need something with unlimited inbound and outbound minutes. I'm open to keeping my 2182 but sounds like my best bet is a new phone which I'm fine with getting.

Any suggestions?

Didn't you understand from my reply to your other recent post that your 2182 will be fine with any other non-GV ITSP?  Nothing OBihai/Poly will/can do is going to prevent you from configuring the 2182 via its own onboard web server.

I did understand it. I'm asking for an alternative to GV in case I need to switch.

There are no other free services that are comparable that I know of.

Most of the hundreds of paid others will work with your present equipment.

Highly recommend using Localphone! USA, New York City. I am a very satisfied Localphone VoIP customer using both a CISCO SPA112 and OBi200. Best buy for me is the USA 800 minute Subscription which costs only $1.60 per month. Toll-free calls are not charged. A telephone number DID, for incomming calls, costs an additional $0.99/month.

For several years I've been using my OBi200 with Localphone. Now whenever Google makes a modification, I don't need to depend on OBi for updates. No problems and no updates. (OBi continuously annoyed me by making changes to my OBi200 firmware without permission, and also repeatedly disabling my OBi and then demanding $10/yr maintenance. I configured my OBi to have local settings. The Localphone website shows you how. Everything has been working fine with Localphone for several years.) I'm in the USA. A Localphone DID costs 99 cents/month. Unlimited incoming calls are free. 800 minutes of outgoing calls is $1.60/month. No taxes are added. Localphone is a bargain, with servers in Wilmington Delaware and Amsterdam Netherlands. If you'd like to give Localphone a try, I'd appreciate your using my referral link below. Thanks and good luck.
P.S. I also use Callcentric for Caller-ID on incomming calls. That incomming DID number costs $1.00/month.

So are you forwarding incoming Localphone calls to your Callcentric DID via SIP URI or PSTN? It must be PSTN since Callcentric strips out CNAM from SIP URI calls.

I've used Localphone as an alternative outgoing line (spoofing my GV number) for years but have never used one of their DIDs.

Do you notice any latency on your incoming calls forwarding thru Callcentric?

Both Localphone and Callcentric have been working reliably for me, for many years (both incoming and outgoing calls). No lags that I have noticed. I use Localphone to make outgoing calls because it is much less expensive. A Localphone subscription of 800 minutes/month for outgoing calls costs $1.60. Unlimited incoming calls are free on both Localphone and Callcentric. I have Callcentric as a backup (never use), and when I have to send an outgoing FAX.

While using my OBi200 with Google Voice was free, when Google made some changes, I had to rely on Obihai to post a fix. Moreover, Obihai wanted to charge a yearly maintenance, and it appeared my OBi200 was being intentionally randomly disabled. Since switching to Localphone, years ago, there have been no issues, no glitches, just smooth sailing. It's been a pleasure. I do still use my Google Voice numbers. They transfer calls to my Localphone and Callcentric DID's.

Going to Locaphone was definitely the right move for me. I'm very very satisfied. Should you do decide to try Localphone, please sign up using this link so I might possibly get a small credit. It'll cost you nothing. Thanks.

Thanks but I'm looking for something with unlimited incoming and outgoing minutes. I realize that won't be free. I've seen few services out there that are reasonably priced. Localphone isn't unlimited and I'm 99.99% domestic calls anyway.
Has anyone used Voipo , Powerphone Voiply or Axvoice?
