Returned home from a multi-week vacation to find that my OBi202 was dead. There are no lights on the top front panel. Physical reset does nothing either.

Anyone else encountered something like this? And is there a fix? Due to EoL, models on eBay and Amazon are going at super inflated prices right now.

As always, check the outlet and swap out the power supply. Personally half of the power supplies I have in the house are usable for Obi's. Should be 12 vdc center pin is positive. If the 12 volt adapter plug fits in, then the current should be acceptable.

Because you were on vacation, I suspect a power surge OR that someone turned off an outlet. Some people have switched outlets (top may be switched while the bottom plug is hardwired). Was a neighbor coming over to water plants or feed animals?

If blame is to be assigned, it would appear to be squarely on Obi/Poly. Looks like the AC adapter is at fault. It was plugged into a heavy duty surge protector and was undisturbed by anyone the entire time we were away; it just failed.

I swapped out the AC adapter with my 200 and the 202 sprang back to life. So that's a small relief. Ordered a comparable UL-listed replacement on Amazon. Hope that's all the solution calls for.

I can attest that the power supplies that were included with the 2xx models aren't of very good quality. They often contribute to line noise. I've also had a few outright fail. I've replaced all the stock power supplies for my units with high quality 12V "linear" models.

I am interested in replacing my power adapter.  Do you have a link to the exact power supply model that you purchased?

I bought mine from there. You might be able to find it cheaper on eBay.

This is the one I have used and recommended.  It exceeds the amperage requirement of the OBi 200, so it can also be used with their IP phones.
