Wondering if there is any plan for introducing a GSM gateway feature in addition to existing PSTN line. Which can give option to bridge calls through GSM network using SIM card. A new model or add-on to existing devices would be wonderful. :)

try nicherons.com   see if they have what you need.

I think what he is talking about is bluetooth from a cell phone to the obi device to make wifi calls.

Yes I am talking about similar solution, however, they have PCI card based modules which require dedicated computer working all the time like server. I have ordered one from dinstar.com which is a small unit like oBi. I was thinking if oBi comes up with two-in-one device which can provide both GSM and PSTN connectivity, wouldn't it be a wonderful option.  :)

Lets see if any other forum members have their experience to share.

It sure would be nice, but is there a market for such a device?  Companies are profit driven and as such, it boils down to a supply and demand issue.  Personally, I think this is a non-starter. since there are a number of options available with the OBi110 (XLink and a Cellphone, etc.) or the OBi202 and the Bluetooth plugin paired with a cellphone..

Interesting. Although I see its market. as in many areas of the world people are using mobiles more than their land lines. So we are seeing more attractive offers and packages on mobile services. Plus, GSM gateways also providing SMS server option. However, you may be right, demand may not be same in all regions.

And by the way thanks for providing ebay link, I am shocked to see $20 price tag, not sure if device will even work  :) It seems to have both landline and SIM card support.

The soundwin device is interesting but with the OBi202 plus Bluetooth adapter we can use cell phones voice services seamlessly.  I don't see much of an upside over GSM or CDMA phones connected via BT adapter. If you wanted to use mobile Data something similar to a mi-fi device might work. Perhaps I am missing something important to what you want to do. As pointed out earlier this is a money game and they won't put out hardware that doesn't have a large market.  We can only guess at what they plan to do unless someone from OBi would like to chime in.

Here is the manual for soundwin device for those curious.

Wonderful. Thanks for the link to manual, this is what I was searching for, as I wanted to buy this unit and see how it works. :)
