I have a Obihai 110 device and opted for a Phone Power account back when Obihai put out a notice that google voice would no longer support the Obihai device. I have continued to get text, voice and call logs in both the Phone Power and google voice accounts. My Phone Power account is up for renewal and honestly I see no need to keep it since google voice still works. I have a cutoff of 5 pm pst to notify Phone Power to cancel my service but want to be certain my calls will in fact go through my google voice service. Is there anyone with whom i can speak directly to assist me with reconfiguring my device to route calls through my google voice number. if so i can be reached at 469-363-2995. My name is William.

Thanks for any immediate assistance.

Yes, Google Voice will work fine with your OBi 110, IF you follow these steps:

  • Download and save the .fw file from this link:  http://fw.obihai.com/OBi110-1-3-0-2886.fw
  • Pick up the phone attached to your OBi and dial ***1 and write down the IP address that it reads to you.
  • Open a web browser to that address.
  • Log into your OBi device.  The default username and password are both admin
  • Click System Management-->Device Update-->Firmware Update-->Select file to update firmware.
  • Browse to the file you downloaded and select it.
  • Click the "Update" button.

and, then carefully read and follow these instructions:  http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=8560.msg56460#msg56460

Will following these instructions revert my service to the original google voice number I established prior to establishing and registering the Phone Power service on the sp1 port of my obihai?

Given how fast you posted your reply, I have to wonder if you even read the posted instructions.  You can make an effort to figure this out for yourself; it's not that difficult.

If you still have an active, working Google Voice account, then yes, the OBi will use that account and its Google Voice number.

Log into your Google Voice account and go to this page to confirm that it still has a number, and that you don't have some old, out-of-service forwarding phone number listed.  Call the number and confirm that it still works and it can forward to say, a cell phone:  https://www.google.com/voice#phones
