OBi200 - freephoneline.ca - Can't receive incoming calls.

Hello, i just bought a OBi200 and a VoIP unlock key from freephoneline.ca.  I set everything up and I'm able to make calls, but every time someone tries to call me it goes straight to the voice mail.  The first thing i did was change the setting in my FPL profile for number of rings before it goes to voice mail from the default 1 to the max 5, thinking that was the problem, but unfortunately it wasn't.

A few things i have noticed in both my FPL and OBi profiles that might mean something...  In my FPL - SIP SETTINGS - SIP Status it says disconnected.

On my OBi Dashboard - SP1 - freephoneline.ca Account it says, Register Failed:  No Response From Server.

Also under Settings - Edit Service Provider 1 it says RingCentral Account with some new boxes to input things for RingCentral, it has Authorization ID which has my FPL username in it.  Password, which has a 6 digit password in the box which isn't my FPL password since it is a 8 digit password.  User Name which is left blank.  Not sure what RingCentral is but even after i deleted and re added my FPL account, it still shows that.

You will never receive calls on your freephoneline number until the device shows "registered".

RingCentral is another ITSP.  Unless you entered that yourself I'm at a loss to explain why your OBi shows it.

Is your OBi really a brand new, previously unused one?

I'm even wondering if your outgoing calls are not actually going through freephoneline!

Maybe freephoneline.ca uses RingCentral as it's provider.
freephoneline is one of the ITSPs that can be configured by selecting it from the list on the Obitalk portal.  I don't have a freephoneline account so cannot follow the setup through to completion.  However, selecting freephoneline during setup on the portal causes 'voip.freephoneline.ca' to be pre-filled in the Service Provider Proxy Server field.

When i initially chose and set up FPL through OBitalk portal there was no mention or setting for RingCentral.  It was only after i added it and then went into Settings - Edit Service Provider 1 that it had these extra RingCentral options along with the initial FPL options.

I'm pretty sure it's brand new, bought it from newegg.  I even reset OBi Expert Config from the OBitalk portal, i also reset the settings to default by accessing the device directly via its WAN interface.

I removed both the OBi200 device and FPL profile from my OBi dashboard and re added both again.

I have a found a few other posts from people through googling "freephoneline ringcentral" talking about RingCentral showing up on their FPL profile, but no one saying if it's a normal thing or not.  My outgoing calls are going through my FPL number.

I found this linked http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16090 a few times for setting up your OBi device with FPL, i followed it and made the changes but still can't receive calls, it just goes straight to voice mail.

What about in my FPL profile - SIP SETTINGS - SIP Status it says disconnected.  That sounds like it's not a good thing, but like i said I'm able to make calls so i don't know...

Is there anything i need to change within the OBi200 settings to enable incoming calls?

The Power and Ethernet LED icons on the OBi200 device are on, the Phone icon is off except when the phone is in use.

In order for your OBi to be able to send packets w/o interruption, please configure your router as follows:
Allow Outgoing:
TCP Ports: 6800, 5222, 5223
UDP Ports: 5060, 5061, 10000 to 11000, 16600 to 16998, 19305
Allow Incoming on UDP Port: 10000

1. Of the circa 20 different home routers I've encountered, none had any settings to allow outgoing ports.

2.  Allowing incoming 10000 UDP will have absolutely no effect on SIP registration failure.

What router are you using?  Does it have a SIP ALG feature?  If so, try to disable it and see if the problem goes away.

If you cannot disable it, try removing your device from OBiTALK, resetting it, and configuring it manually, using the Rogers proxy: http://forum.fongo.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=16196

Besides the official configuration, I also suggest you set your X_UserAgentPort to a random number between 20000 and 65535.

Let us know if that works.

I use FPL and OBiTalk portal to configure

First delete FPL from your Obi Dashboard
   click Obi Dashboard
click the blue wheel (right side of My Obi Device)
click the trash can icon  (assuming it is SP1)

Install FPL on SP1
   click SP1
On ObiTalk Approve Service Providers screen click Next  ( bottom of the page )
   click freephoneline

refer to pic1 for the configuration and click submit
You will see  "Configuration has been updated successfully."

    Click Obi Dashboard again
You will see FPL "Service Not Configured"
    click SP1
refer to pic2 type your FPL id and pw again on RingCentral and press submit

     Click Obi Dashboard
     SP1 FPL will show "Registered"
