Does anveo 911 have a delay before ringing?

I signed up for anveo e911 through obi.

When I use the 933 number to test 911, it has a ten second elapse time after dialing and before I hear a ring. If I dial 911 for real, is there going to be a ten second delay as well?

Ten seconds may not seem much, but in an emergency it could feel like forever.

I attached a mp3 of the test call.

The delay you are experiencing is caused by the OBi device's default digit timer, waiting to see if you are going to key in any more digits.  You can either hit the # key after keying in the digits (which tells the device "that's the last digit; make the call now"), or you can modify your digit maps to reduce or remove the time delay.

I'm sure one of the digit map gurus will point you to the optimum way to configure it; I'm not that guru.

When you don't explicitly define a rule for a number in a DigitMap, the dialed number will match the catch all rule "xx.". When this happens you will get a 10 second delay. Without seeing your configuration I guessing you have 911 defined, but not 933.

Find the 911 definition. It should be in the Phone Port DigitMap or the DigitMap for Anveo.

Physical Interfaces -> Phone Port -> DigitMap
or
Service Providers -> ITSP Profile X General -> DigitMap

Change 911 to 911S0|933S0

When you define 911 there will be a 2 second delay.
With the S + zero suffix there will be no delay.

New user here. This is the string in Phone Port -> DigitMap on my Obi200:

([1-9]x?*(Mpli)|[1-9]S9|[1-9][0-9]S9|911|**0|***|#|##|**70(Mli)|**8(Mbt)|**81(Mbt)|**82(Mbt2)|**1(Msp1)|**2(Msp2)|**3(Msp3)|**4(Msp4)|**9(Mpp)|(Mpli))

Should I change that to:
([1-9]x?*(Mpli)|[1-9]S9|[1-9][0-9]S9|911S0|933S0 ... (etc)...?

I think so but assumptions could be dangerous, in this case.

Thanks

Chris
