Does GV display a Google contact name in the caller ID display on phone?

I'm a complete Newbie and I'm getting the OBI202 in sometime soon.  I was curious if the name of a person you have in your google contacts with be displayed on a the actual phone's caller ID display?

If this is possible I may not use the CC and just use only GV.  Again, I'm a complete newb who just wants to shed Vonage and save some money.

I'm really just looking for a good home phone set up and just do the basic stuff.  Caller ID with a name is relatively important but if my contacts from google will actually show up in the display on the phone I'd be happy.  Now if you could only change the name for the outgoing caller ID so people know it's me.

Thanks for any tips and advice!

Read thru OBiTalk FAQs.

Look at sticky threads in setup and day to day forums.

Technically correct.  But the link explains the details how to make it work.  So I would say:

Yes, but not by itself.  Making it work does not need to cost anything.  The link above explains one approach.

I did it differently, but still free.  (Because I am thinking about using Anveo, I signed up for a free Anveo account, plus a free IPKall account, and have the IPKall send to the free sip address at Anveo and GV forwards to the IPKall number, not chat.  My OBi provider 1 is set up for GV and is used for outgoing calls, my provider 2 is set up with Anveo and gets the incoming calls.)
