Strange Incoming Calls?

Just setup an OBI202 with Vitelity, everything works good except we are getting strange calls with the caller id of just "1".

These calls don't even seem to come from the Vitelity network.

We have Vitelity voice mail set for 5 rings, these calls and only these calls ring like 10 times.

Vitelity has no record of the calls in the call records.

Can the Obi2002 be generating these calls as a test or something?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have you tried to answer the call? If yes, what type of call is it?

If you haven't answered the call, try it next time to see if it is some sort of telemarketing.

These are probably what are called scanner calls. They call via IP address and the standard port numbers 5060-1.

You can start with the easiest setup, method 2. I use Methods 2 and 4.

Another option with the 2xx series using newer firmware is the X_AcceptSipFromRegistrarOnly field.

It can be found here:
Voice Services>SPx>X_AcceptSipFromRegistrarOnly

Just put a checkmark in the box next to that field and save your changes. It should immediately stop all sip scanners.

It's not a call in the traditional sense. It's a sip probe by a bot.

That fixed it... Thank You!
