Message Waiting Indicator stopped working

My message waiting indicator light stopped working on my Panasonic cordless home phones.
It has worked fine for the last couple years.  I had 13 new VM messages from the last month.

What would cause this.

The cause is that MWI has not been supported by the GV/Obihai combination for quite some time. More than one year I think.
