Direct Media to SIP endpoints behind the LAN

Hi there,

I am lab testing a 302 and 508 for possible subscriber deployments.

Both the 302 and 508 have a media gateway model on the host switch that allows them to use direct media, the FXS ports are working just great using DM, so it appears the 302 is hair-pinning the media just fine.

When I attach SIP endpoints on the LAN side (such as Aastra or Polycom phones) which use direct media as well I get one-way audio or no audio at all.  When reviewing a packet capture on the WAN side, the SDP in the message body of all the SIP signalling looks perfect and identical to the signalling for the FXS ports.

I am hoping this is just a setting I overlooked but does anyone have feedback on whether the Obihai's should be able to hairpin the media to SIP endpoints on the LAN?  If so what might I have missed in the configuration?

Thank you,

Paul.
