Should status be "connected" or "registered"?

Using obi 202. GV working fine in and out on Phone 1. Status in obi device config reads "connected"
Voip.ms on Phone 2 has not been behaving well lately. Has worked intermittently. Last night, checked status, which said something like "registered but not connected to server" and it wasn't working correctly at all in or out. This morning status reads "registered" and seems to be working fine in and out.

Question: is it normal and good for GV's status to say "connected" and Voip.ms's to say "registered"? Or should Voip.ms's status also be "connected"? If it should be "connected" then what should I do to make it so?

Thanks for any tips.

The correct terms that indicate working service are:

Google Voice:  "Connected"

SIP service providers like voip.ms:  "Registered"

This is because the OBi is "connecting" to a service provided by Google, with your permission.  It is "registering" to a SIP server using your SIP user ID and password.  Your SIP service provider's SIP server sends back status codes indicating the state of that sign-in.  You likely had a temporary problem with your SIP provider's SIP server last night, which was resolved, and your OBi was then able to register with that provider.

Thanks much for clarifying the status, Steve.
If anyone else has noticed recent service intermittency with voip.ms, please add insight.

Sounds similar to my issue, the post from earlier today.

No insights yet, but hoping the error messages one or both of us are seeing rings a bell with someone :)

Those are service-provider errors, not OBi-specific issues.  Why not contact voip.ms if the errors persist, and get them to troubleshoot it?
