I was talking with PhonePower support this morning and learned they no longer issue Grandstream ATA's and in fact tell users just to toss them if they have issues, rather return them.  They are now, according this tech, sending out OBi302's.  I had never heard of this one and I wonder if this is a unit we can buy and provision through Obitalk or if there is a reason it might be better for users than the OBi200.  Anybody know?

OBi300s and OBi302s are the same basic hardware as OBi200s and OBi202s respectively but the firmware acts differently.  They do not support Google Voice.  They are rumoured to be supplied only to Service Providers - I have never seen them for retail sale to end users. It is also known that at least some 30x devices supplied to Service providers are blocked from being registered on the Obitalk portal.

300s and 302s are listed on the front page of the Admin Guide and mentioned frequently therein. http://www.obihai.com/docs/OBiDeviceAdminGuide.pdf

This makes sense, given that PhonePower is one of the OBiTALK partners that has implemented automatic provisioning via the service provider API.  Win-win for PP and Obihai, and ultimately, their customers, in terms of zero-touch configuration and fewer user-caused configuration problems.

I used these instructions:

OBi302 Note: To access the integral web page via the WAN port, you may need to enable WAN access.  To do this, from the connected phone dial ***0.  Next, enter 30# - Press 1 to enter a new value - Press 1# to enable - Press 1 to save.

Then I copied my settings from a Obi100 device that was setup for Asterisk. I was then able to use Obi302 with Asterisk. This method may allow you to use the device with other carriers too. The tricky part was getting the management webpage. Thanks to ShermanObi.
