Hello,
I just purchased a OBi202 and a Cisco SPA525G2 phone. I already have a Vonage Line at home that allows me free calling to 60 countries worldwide. I work out of my home office, so I do not want to tie down my Vonage line for my business call and want to have it free for my family members.
Hence I thought the Obi could be a good solution where I use GV lines for business calls. I was able to setup a GV line and my IP phone connected using the instructions on
http://blog.obihai.com/2012/08/use-your-obi202-as-google-voice-gateway.html.
I have got my Vonage Line connected to Obi202 using the ObiLine and I can use the Vonage Line through Obi and an Analog Phone connected to Obi202 Line 1 port.
My question is
a) How can I use my Cisco IP to access the Vonage Line. What are the setup instructions for that? I do not want to have two separate phone systems (Analog and IP Phone in my office). I just want to use the IP phone in the office and have multiple lines available through the different lines on the SPA525G2.
b) As per the instructions on
http://blog.obihai.com/2012/08/use-your-obi202-as-google-voice-gateway.html, Sp2 is being used as a proxy for the IP Phone. Does this means I am losing on the capability of connecting four SIP lines? so I have only two more lines available to play with at this point?
I would really appreciate any suggestions/response to my questions.
Thanks,
Shail
