My OBi202 stopped working several months ago. Since I really don't use it much I just got around to setting it up again today with Google Voice. Everything seems to be connected with solid green for both lines on the device and Connected status in OBi Dashboard. I get a dial tone but can't make or receive calls. Nor can a send a fax from the printer I have one of the lines routed through.

I can reach **9 222 222 222 and get the message and then it hangs up. I cannot leave any voice message if that makes a difference.

I am using Google Voice and I think everything is set up right. I removed both lines and then went through the set up again.

In OBi Expert Configuration system status I am showing SoftwareVersion 3.2.1 (Build: 5757EX)

Based on my research this is NOT the current version.

I have tried to find out "How to manually update firmware" but haven't found any SIMPLE instructions.

I did go into System Management Auto Provisioning and changed the Method to Periodically, the Interval to 86400, TimeofDay to 13:11+30 (that was a couple of minutes from when I was making the changes) and the FirmwareURL to http://www.obihai.com/firmware/OBi5-latest.fw.

Since that didn't seem to do anything after several minutes I have switched everything back to OBiTALK Settings.

I am LONG out of warranty, so any help would be appreciated.

I'm guessing I need to figure out how to enable WAN access to my device. I believe I ran across something like that in my searches.

Thank you. That did the update. Now I have to figure out if it worked.

It did! Thank you.

I've been using tech since before I bought my Mac in 1984. I am still amazed when it works as advertised.

And Forums are the best!  :D

Anyone know why the URL for the latest firmware doesn't actually point to the latest firmware? Kinda defeats the purpose. Currently it points to 5463EX whereas the current version is 5921EX. Not that I'm expecting a lot of future updates, but it'd be nice to know that I could actually count on that URL in case there is one.

OBi202 • Google Voice (domestic) • Localphone (international)

The link in http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=9.msg13#msg13 does return 5921EX.

Everyone,
Just thought I would update the chatter, since I found an abandoned OBI202 and started poking around the device. It did not work no matter how many times I RESET and it did not seem to detect any Firmware Update needed. So I basically Google Searched and ended up here; which is when I figured I would manually update the firmware, but the only reliable link I found was:

Latest Firmware Updates for retail/consumer BYOD OBi Devices

Anyway, I updated the OBI202 and now it is working 100% with Google Voice; so I guess they threw it out, because it stopped working for them. Now I have a home "landline" and this turned into a pretty sweet find, so I hope this helps someone else and avoids more e-waste...
