Google Fi Means Giving Up GV Phone Number

Anybody know of a work around, so you keep your GV number when signing up for Google Fi?  As it is now, even if you plan to port an existing number you still lose your GV number associated with your Google Account.

You can either port your Google Voice phone number to Fi, thus removing it from GV and turning it into a Fi number, or you can first transfer the GV number to a different Google account and use it there with GV.

Note:  you cannot use a Fi number as a linked/forwarding number on a Google Voice configuration.

Thanks for that. I wasn't expecting this from Fi.  I really don't want to set up a second Google Account, so I guess I'll have to pass.  I want to keep using my existing mobile number and the GV number associated with my OBi.  Oh well.
