Hello:

tried to make a phone call today and was told by a woman recording "We could not complete your call. Please try again." ... I don't know who the 'we' is .. I use Google Voice - with an older Vtech phone system. ... does anyone know how I determine where the calls are failing - my Obi seems to be working fine - my internet seems to be fine - my Google Voice seems to be fine ... any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

That message is from Google Voice.

Have you tried again after waiting a few hours?

If you have another phone try plugging that in to the OBi instead of the current one.  Just to test the (small) possibility that the current phone is misdialling the digits you are pressing.

thanks for the heads up on origin ...

I think I solved it - for some reason we are suddenly having to put our area code before local calls and never had to do that before - not sure is something changed with Google Voice ... it worked just fine last week when I made some calls but suddenly today we were receiving this message ... will have to poke around the settings and see if we can change it back ...

appreciate the feedback  ;)

I finally tried removing all devices from my Google Voice account then deleting the Google Voice account from the OBi200 Box then resetting everything up, but I got the same results. I think the software is up to date at 3.2.2 (Build: 5898EX). I have an Asus AC-1900 router and the OBi200 is connected to it by Ethernet. Do you have any suggestions on what to try to be able to reliably receive incoming calls and make outgoing calls without restarting the OBi200?

The following will not work if you have an OBi202.  Please ask for additional instructions.

Dial ***1 and note the IP address which will be read out to you.

Put that address into a browser on a computer on the same LAN as the OBi200.  Log in with admin and admin, unless you previously changed the password.

Click on Status and then on Call Status.  Check that the numbers shown against outgoing calls are as you expect.

That voice is surely from Google Voice. You can always try again with different OBi instead of the current one. As there are most of the time problems with the misdialing.
