hi,

Title really. I got an email saying the 110 is dead. Am I missing something or is the 110 being killed with no replacement?

Is there anything that replaces it which merges SIP with POTS? If nothing Obi that's ok.

My other option at this point is to set aside 3 or 4 weekends to figure out how to add FXO/FXS ports and FreePBX to my PFsense box.

So anything that would take less time to learn/setup would be a better alternative. If not, anyone with good guide suggestions for me to follow would also be appreciated.

Thanks!

I suspect you are misinterpreting and over-reacting.

Obihai declared the OBi100 and OBi110 'End of Life' a couple of years ago.  That does NOT mean that they are "dead" or no longer work.  It means there will be no more firmware upgrades and Obihai tech support is not available for them.  If your OBi110 is working now it will continue to work until it has a hardware failure or your Service Provider makes some change which the final 2886 firmware does not support.  While Google has done that more than once it is unlikely that other VoIP providers using unadulterated SIP or POTS standards will.

I have two OBi110s and one Obi100 and have yet to receive any email stating that they are "dead".  One 110 and one 100 are in normal use as I type this.  Yes i've had the EOL stuff but that is just Obihai marketing department trying to make new sales.

If you really do need to replace an OBi110 the best alternative is an OBi212.  That is the only current Obihai product which has a FXO port.
