I primarily use Voip.Ms and have multiple Toll Free and regular numbers with them. All my plans are "per minute" and the rates are great. You can choose essentually basic calling or premium calling. Premium is an upgrade to a higher priced carrier which may have better results for you. I have never needed to upgrade.

I configured a neighbors business lines to use Voip.Ms but he needed to keep his inbound number with the local Telco. That way he forwards his calls to Voip.Ms or Callcentric (which is a backup carrier incase of Voip.Ms issues). So we bought a Voip.Ms number and forward his business line to it. Each extension on those phones uses the business's number in Caller ID rather than the Voip.Ms number we purchased. We did the Same with Callcentric and a number we got from them. Thus someone calls the main (TELCO) business number. It is forwarded to a VOIP provider and then to the extensions (Obi2182's). Any outbound call shows the main business number. If Voip.Ms goes down, soemone just manually changes the forwards at the main number and things keep on working.

You could get a Voip.Ms number and forward a GoogleVoice number to it. Only problem there is that GV may use their own voice mail if the call is not answered right away. A way to solve that is to have Voip.Ms answer all incoming calls with an Automated attendant ("Press 1 for..." or perhaps "Please wait while I direct you call")

The Voip.ms IVR does not work when forwarding from Google Voice. Nor does some of the System options like busy signal and system error recordings. All you get is ringback tone until GV voicemail picks up the call. All you can really do is route the call to your extension or voicemail.

This came up in the forum a year or two ago. SteveInWA said some kind of change had taken place with Google Voice and IVRs would no longer work when forwarding from GV. However, for whatever reason the Callcentric IVR works just fine when forwarding from GV. I don't understand the difference but I just tested Voip.ms again and the IVR just doesn't work when forwarding from GV.

Consequently, Callcentric has much better tools to block robocalls when forwarding from Google Voice.

OOPS, sorry. I'll take your word for it because I had not tested it. It just seemed like an obvious solution.
