It appears HP completed the acquisition of Poly the end of August.

I saw a link recently to Poly where they offer a number of phones to integrate with Google Voice but the specs mention Workspace. Those phones arw lots more expensive than what we have been able to get the 1xxx and 2xxx phones for.

Certainly my 2182 could be used in place of one of those $200+ phones, so I can understand why they and similar phones may be discontinued. I certainly don't need all the bells and whistles of a 2182 but I got it because the lower 2xxx models needed BT and Wifi which were built into this phone.

If I was in charge, I would create a residential phone with 2 lines, caller ID screen, hold feature and buttons for voice mail and builtin wifi and BT. It might allow GV. Granted, when it first came out, getting free call when others paid a lot was great, but with the many SIP providers now, paying fractions of a cent per minute for home service is just as exciting.

Google Voice for Workspace is not the Google Voice that the OBi2xx units support.

Poly (even before its acquisition of Obihai) never had any interest in consumer market products.
