How to dial out using SP2

Got GV working great on SP1.  Needed service for cheap calling to UK so configured SP2 using voip.ms

What sequence do I push when I turn on phone to use SP2 instead of GV on SP1?

I thought it was something like **2 (then UK phone #)

RonR

**1 + Number  ->  SP1 Service
**2 + Number  ->  SP2 Service
**8 + Number  ->  LINE Port
**9 + Number  ->  OBiTALK Service

That's correct.  Depending on how you have VoIP.ms set up, you would dial e.g. **2011442071234567 .  If it doesn't work, look at Call History in the OBi, to see what it sent to VoIP.ms and what error was returned.

BTW, I assume that you are calling landlines.  IMO, VoIP.ms rates to UK mobiles are too high and there are many other choices.

Hortoristic

SP1 - GV
SP2 - Voip.MS

Using my iphone OBion app I'm able to place calls by hitting speed dial #2 (home) - then **213601231234 - and voip.ms collects a penny for placing a call.

However; dialing **213601231234 from handset results in fast busy signals - seems **(anything) gets me fast busy signals.

One other config change was I followed the instructions to change how 911 is routed - it dials an emergency number in my county instead of the PTSN dial out for 911 - did that somehow break my **(some #) ?

Are you dialing this from the OBi PHONE Port or the OBiON App in the iPhone?

Stewart

What does Call History show?  Also, post present values of DigitMap for Phone port and SP2, as well as OutboundCallRoute for Phone port.

Hortoristic

I'm just trying to allow my wife to pick up handset and dial something that calls on on SP2 that uses voip.ms to call UK land lines.  Seems like Google voice dial tone is right there as soon as I do anything.

Will post digit maps next

Hortoristic

DigitMap for SP2:
(1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*]@@.)

OutboundCallRoute:
{([1-9]x?*(Mpli)):pp},{(<#:>)|(<911:13605338765>):sp1},{**0:aa},{***:aa2},{(<**1:>(Msp1)):sp1},{(<**2:>(Msp2)):sp2},{(<**8:>(Mli)):li},{(<**9:>(Mpp)):pp},{(Mpli):pli}

I remember the OutboundCallRoute was one thing changed for 911

RonR

This isn't your SP2 problem, but your OutboundCallRoute is incorrect.  It should be:

Physical Interfaces -> PHONE Port -> OutboundCallRoute:

{([1-9]x?*(Mpli)):pp},{(<#:>):li},{(<911:13605338765>):sp1},{**0:aa},{***:aa2},{(<**1:>(Msp1)):sp1},
{(<**2:>(Msp2)):sp2},{(<**8:>(Mli)):li},{(<**9:>(Mpp)):pp},{(Mpli):pli}

Hortoristic

I made that change but dialing **2 still gives me fast busy.  Are you sure we didn't just break my 911 calling?  It used to call 13605338765 via SP1 when I dialled 911 and was working good.

Doesn't it still?  What you had would have dialed 911 properly (and still should), but you had broken the ability to dial # and get a direct connection to the LINE Port.

Did you get the DigitMap for SP2 from?:

Service Providers -> ITSP Profile B -> General -> DigitMap

Hortoristic

ITSP Profile B General > Digitmap:

(*75xx|*9x|1xxxxxxxxxx|<1>[2-9]xxxxxxxxx|011xx.|xx.|(Mipd)|[^*]@@.)

I had followed these two changes to make 911 calls:

http://judsonsnotes.com/notes/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=531:obi110-voip-phone-setting-up-911&catid=37:tech-notes&Itemid=59

Those instructions are wrong.  You should NOT make any changes to the PHONE Port DigitMap and you should make the change I gave you to the OutboundCallRoute.

RonR

After returning the PHONE Port DigitMap to Default, try your **2 call again.

Hortoristic

It's working now - RON YOUR THE BOMB!

DigitMap:
([1-9]x?*(Mpli)|[1-9]|[1-9][0-9]|911|**0|***|#|**1(Msp1)|**2(Msp2)|**8(Mli)|**9(Mpp)|(Mpli))

OutboundCallRoute:
{([1-9]x?*(Mpli)):pp},{(<#:>):li},{(<911:13605338765>):sp1},{**0:aa},{***:aa2},{(<**1:>(Msp1)):sp1}, {(<**2:>(Msp2)):sp2},{(<**8:>(Mli)):li},{(<**9:>(Mpp)):pp},{(Mpli):pli}

RonR

That's great!

Judson's Notes about the OBi need to corrected or deleted.
