with GrooveIP running, you will still be able to make outgoing calls on the Obi using your same google voice account. Incoming calls to the Obi will likely not happen.
This is a setup that will allow everything work together.
1 google voice account
1 callcentric account with a free NY DID (free incoming calls, choose "no" for use
in the US or Canada to avoid the E911 fee)
At google voice
- set your callcentric DID as a forwarding phone
- set your google chat as a forwarding phone
On your Obi
- set up google voice on SP1
- set it as the primary service for outgoing calls
- set your inbound call route for SP1 - {(1xxxxxxxxxx):ph},{}
(1xxxxxxxxxx will be your google voice number)
- set up callcentric on SP2
- set your inbound call route for SP2 - {ph}
On your cell phone
- set up the app of your choice (ex: Talkatone for iOS / GrooveIP for Android)
using the same google voice account
Calls to your google voice number will be forwarded to all your forwarding phones.
Your free incoming calls on CallCentric will ring your Obi phone port.
Outgoing calls from your Obi phone port will use your google voice number.
The rule in the SP1 inbound call route will ring your phone port only when the incoming caller id is that of your google voice number. This allows you to use "click 2 call".
The inbound call route for SP2 is your main incoming call route. If you want to fork any incoming calls this is where to do it, not at SP1.
A great benefit of this setup is free caller id WITH NAME on your incoming calls. For $1.50 a month you also get E911 service from Callcentric.
Maybe I forgot something, just ask me; or for modifications to suit your needs.
