OBi202 Highlights:
Easy to Set-Up and Use
Based on comments from Obihai customers, there have never before been VoIP devices that can be set-up so easily and used immediately, with absolutely no prior technical knowledge of VoIP or voice & data networking by the end-user.  The OBi202 is no different than its brothers, the well-reviewed and market-leading OBi100 and OBi110 VoIP phone adapters.  When used in conjunction with the www.OBiTALK.com web portal, anyone can have an OBi up-and-running – making and receiving calls in minutes.
YouTube Video: Connecting the OBi202 to the Internet

Fully-Matrixed VoIP Service Routing with Four VoIP Services and OBi-to-OBi Calling
Phones connected to the OBi202's 2-phone ports are able to access any of up-to-four (4) SIP or Google Voice services and the OBiTALK OBi-to-OBi calling network to make and receive free and low-cost calls from across town or to anywhere in the world.

A Mini-Phone System via Phone Collaboration
While the OBi202 phone ports can function independently with any of the available VoIP service providers and OBiTALK, the OBi202 also offers collaborative features which allow its phone ports to work together as a mini-phone system.  The user can dial a "#" key to call from one phone port to the other.  Depending on the current state of the called phone, one of the following can happen:
       - If the called phone is idle, it will ring normally with a Caller-ID indicating the call is coming from the phone connected to the other phone port of the same OBi202.
       - If the called phone is already on a call, the calling phone can automatically join the call.
       - If the called phone is on-hook with a call holding, the calling phone can pick up / resume the call.
       - If the called phone is ringing, the calling phone will pick-up and answer the incoming call.

The Industry's Most Comprehensive SIP-Based VoIP Platform
Service providers Vonage, MagicJack, Nettalk, Ooma and Skype (via FREETALK) do not currently support anything other than their own device, locked-down to only their service. Obihai devices, on the other hand, can be used with a multitude of services – actually four at the same time.  The OBi202 can be used with any Internet phone service that supports the SIP open standard.  For example, the OBi202 may be used with hundreds of Bring-Your-Own-Device service providers like; Anveo, Callcentric, VoicePulse, VoIP.ms.   By using the www.OBiTALK.com web portal, customers can easily set-up the OBi202 with their BYOD service username and password. The OBi202 also supports the T.38 real time fax-over-IP standard protocol for reliable faxing over the Internet.

Native Support for Google Voice™
From the telephones connected to the OBi202, anyone can make free calls in the USA and Canada at least through the end of the year*.  Users may also receive calls to their Google Voice phone number(s) and get new / unheard voice message notifications on the phones attached to the OBi202.  If outside the USA or Canada, users may still use their Gmail account with the OBi202 to place calls to over 150 destinations worldwide at incredibly low rates – For example; USA and Canada for 1₵ per minute, India, China and Hong Kong for 2¢ per minute. Up to four (4) Google Voice accounts may be configured on the OBi202.

High-Speed Fast Ethernet Router or Bridge with Voice Call Traffic Prioritization
The OBi202 is designed on-top of a powerful purpose-built processing platform.  The OBi202 is equipped with a one-port Fast Ethernet router with firewall and integrated quality of service (QoS) that ensures voice conversations are prioritized on the network, before all other traffic.

USB Port for Network Flexibility and Application Extensibility
The OBi202 USB port is designed to serve multiple purposes. Using the soon to be available OBiWiFi Wireless Adapter, the OBi202 can be placed anywhere within range of an 802.11b/g/n access point.  Or, the USB2.0 port can be connected to a storage device to enable local and remote access of digital files via the Internet by authorized users.

Cloud-Based Configuration and Software Management
The OBi202 includes the ability to be managed by the OBiTALK cloud configuration service. From anyplace where there is an Internet connection, OBiTALK allows users to add OBi devices, configure VoIP accounts and share services amongst their own OBi endpoints and those of their trusted friends. In-service software updates are easily performed either automatically from the OBiTALK portal or by dialing ***6 from a phone attached to the OBi device.

Zero-Touch Provisioning with Remote Management / Diagnostic Troubleshooting
With Obihai Zero-Touch provisioning (ZT), it is very easy for service providers to purchase OBi units in quantity and realize the benefits of touch-less provisioning to lower operational costs and speed-up customer deployments.  OBi units provisioned via ZT can be fully customized such that the OBi factory default settings are those of the service provider and securely locked to the OBi device after initial power-up and ZT provisioning.  Subsequent subscriber-targeted profile configurations can be directly served from the service provider's network with security and reliability.

Complimentary to ZT, Obihai have a specialized web-portal for VoIP service providers.  Via the portal, service provider support engineers can access each device individually to troubleshoot and configure specific parameter settings as well as set-up and perform loop-back calls and other tests without requiring the end user subscriber's assistance or intervention.

So, here is my quick take on the features... I don't see documentation; just the data sheet. Plus Amazon blurb and Michigan Telephone's post. As many said, Obihai's inability to "generate buzz" (to say the least) is really unfortunate.

I like the ability to connect from either phone to any of four providers (I don't remember any device capable of it). Pleasant surprise.

USB port. Information is quite terse. Allows you to connect over WiFi - but it seems that you need Obihai's proprietary adapter "OBiWiFi". Is it true? How much does it cost?

It can also be used for a storage device... or something of the kind. If anybody can translate the following sentence into English, I would appreciate:
Quotethe USB port can be connected to a storage device to enable local and remote access of stored files on a PC user authorized to access content via the OBi202

Say again, what problem does it solve?

As I said several times, I couldn't care less about the router functionality. So, overall, my price point is about $50-60 (Obi110 has PSTN, but only 1 phone and 2 providers). However, USB can be used for a lot of things. Voicemail and Music-on-hold repository; Fax server, may be some optional software that just wouldn't fit in firmware (voicemail to email conversion; SSH and mail server). At least some kind of syslog/debug server! As you can see imagination runs wild! If that functionality is supported - I would gladly shell out $75!

UPDATE: I see a link to admin guide now... If some of my assumptions are wrong - I apologize!

True the router functionality is supliferous for some, but the two Ethernet ports (bridge mode) can be handy for those daisy-chaining hardware. For example I have a server in the attic; this box will get rid of a hub.

The information I've been given is that initially the USB port won't do that much.  Right now it has some basic file server functionality included.  I'm sure that when the OBiWiFi is released there will be a firmware upgrade to support that (if necessary), and hopefully there will be other uses for it down the road.  But I suspect that up until now they've been working mostly on getting the phone functions and the router functions working.  Once the device goes out the door, and they deal with whatever inevitable glitches are found by new purchasers, then perhaps they will turn their attention to the USB port.  What I was told was that at some point there would essentially be a "firmware 2.0" that would make the USB port more useful.
Inactive, no longer posting or responding to messages.  Goodbye and good luck.  Some of my old Obihai-related blog posts have been moved to http://tech.iprock.com - note this in NOT my blog; I have simply given the owner permission to repost some of my old stuff.

Very good point. I wasn't able to make a bridge out of Grandstream ATA/router; and having two network segments wasn't worth the trouble.

So, having a print server for regular USB printers would be another awesome application for USB port. I am sure the guys that came up with the idea of SPA and OBi have much better product development skills than I do  8)

The T.38 Fax support sounds good, but I wonder exactly how that would work.  Could you only use it with a VOIP provider that specifically supported T.38?  For example, I doubt that GV does.

The 202 sounds exciting. :)  If I did not already have two Obi devices in use, I think I'd surely buy one of these 202s, as it would perform the function of my two Obi's -- in a simpler, cleaner fashion.

Obi202 works sending faxes over Google-Voice... at least for 1 or 2 pages at a time... over 4 or 5 pages seems to be a problem... although I'm currently using it behind my WRT54G router on a poor PPPoE DSL connection. I haven't tested receiving.

To use T.38 on the OBi202, the voice over IP service must also advertise T.38 support.

For example, the Anveo Direct service supports T.38 in select countries (see link).

Question, I was reading this. Can anyone confirm that just one phone port will correctly handle both wire pairs?

Trev

Yes the OBi202 allows you to access both lines from a single jack when using a two pair phone cord.  I was happy to discover this a few weeks ago when plugging in my 3 line phone!
