New voicemail notification stuck on (SP1=GV, SP2=callcentric)

Hi all,

After many months of trouble free service more or less, I returned from a week trip to find that our new voicemail notification is apparently stuck on.  We normally do not use GV voicemail except when away (we turn off the old in house answering machine when we leave), but we have been successfully doing this for a while.

We have a Obi110 driving the house phone network with GV on SP1 and callcentric on SP2.  I  deleted all GV voicemails a day or so ago and there is no voicemail configured on the callcentric account (that account is the $1.50 per month E911 service and their free NYC based phone number).  We have a pair of Panasonic cordless phones that visibly (flash a light) and audibly (beep beep beep the line at off-hook) tell us when we have new GV voicemail.

Rebooted the Obi but that did not do anything.  The GV forum advised contacting the Obi support.

Any ideas?  Can one reset the new voicemail indication on the Obi?  Can one see that state somewhere and tell if it is coming from SP1 or SP2?

Thanks in advance!

Stewart

Log into your OBi at the IP address given when you dial ***1 (user/pass is admin/admin, or as shown on OBiTalk portal) and see what is shown under SP1 and SP2 for MessageWaiting.  If either is set, uncheck the box, press Submit, then reboot the device.

If it comes back on again, then most likely the provider in question is repeatedly sending the MWI signal -- try leaving yourself a message and then deleting it.

Most excellent!  That not only worked but explained more how the Obi works.

Thanks much!
