Obihai and WebRTC: The Future is Calling
http://blog.obihai.com/2012/11/obihai-and-webrtc-future-is-calling.html

" What Has Obihai Technology Been Doing with WebRTC?
Engineers at Obihai have been working to enhance the real-time communication software, i.e.  "stack" used on OBi VoIP products to make them compatible with the WebRTC standards. There are many possible applications and products that will come-about as a result of this work."

Read the short article. The marketing person who wrote this article is really building up expectations. I have to wrap my mind around how a hardware product can take advantage of a new browser voip standard. Can anyone see what new tricks the OBi will be capable of performing?

Here are my musings on the subject.
OBiTALK web portal will have a built in web phone hooked into our OBi units.
New voice and video codecs will be supported
NAT issues are inherently resolved
Minimal to zero configuration setups
Peer<->peer (OBi<->OBI)and client to server abilities (Multiple OBis<->OBi Gateway)
OBiAPP/Obion, sip softphones obsolescence

Here is an excellent audio that will bring you up to speed on the subject by an expert:

Anyone have any ideas how it can be implemented within an OBi ATA.

Curious as to the eventual hacking susceptibility of a single, across-the-board voice communication standard in this targeted use.  I guess placing it within an SSL session would hopefully solve that.

Good stuff!  Thanks guys.
