The internet I speak of needs a landline. I was wondering if I would be able to use that internet once I set everything up with obihai and google voice. Wouldn't the phone have a tone, which is what the internet would need?

No.  If you get DSL internet service, which uses a phone line, that is separate from phone service.

Your DSL internet allows you to use an OBi for calls in addition to your internet usage.

Based on your questions, OBi may not be right for you.  It requires a basic understanding of the internet, routers, cables, etc.

It sounds as though you are talking about DSL from the phone company.

With that type of system, there is a regular telephone service with an internet signal on top of it. At your house they would connect a DSLmodem and your phone line would split off through filters to the phones. The filters make the phone ignore the internet component and the modem ignores the phone component.

If you do not subscribe to phone service, then there are no filters or phones involved.

The Obi VOIP devices connect on the internet side of the service and have nothing to do with any phone service supplied with DSL.

I should mention that some services you might install contain the same wires to the house, with an internet component and a box similar to an Obi where the phone company (or DSL provider) supplies a voice service similar to the Obi.

Theoretically, you could have a landline, internet, and both an Obi and a DSL provided Voip serv ice all at the same time.
