I am unable to automatically update the new firmware. I assume the yellow triangle with an exclamation within my "dashboard" means that there is new firmware that needs to be installed. Can I get a step by step on how to do this. Simple to understand. Something so easy an adult can understand.

To update your firmware, pick up a phone and dial ***6

If an update is available, press 1 to proceed with the update. The software update process will start as soon as you hang up the phone.

Warning: Once the software upgrade process starts, the device's power LED will blink rapidly. Please make sure the power and network cable stay connected to the unit until the process is complete.

Rustifer

Thanks. Tried it. Only the power LED did not blink at all. Solid green the whole time. The LED right beside the power LED did blink a good while.

When you did the **6, did the voice  say there was a firmware update available?

I wonder if you have set your router up in a non-default way that is blocking things.

Does the OBi echo test work?

**9 222 222  222

I presume your normal calls are working.

Rustifer

Yes, software update available. Press 1 and hang up phone.

Echo test working.

Normal calls are working now. Had some problems earlier. Had to delete google chat. Then create new google chat within gmail. Seems to be working now.

Is there a way to check to see what the latest firmware I am running is ?

Shale

You can go to the local web page and look at Status->SoftwareVersion

If you don't know how to get to the local web page, check back.

I think I am right on these, but I might be in error. Listen to the voice
to get prompted as to the right thing to do.

Find IP address of your OBi: from your phone dial ***1 and listen for the IP address.
Write it down.

Let a comma represent a pause.

Enable web access from the WAN for your OBi:
dial ***0,30#, 1, 1

Enter the IP address that you wrote down into the address box on your
browser. If you don't know what a browser is, that means Internet Explorer
or Safari. It could  also mean Firefox, Chrome, etc.

Be prepared to enter the password for your OBi.

Rustifer

Oops! Google Chrome could not connect to **.***.***.***

Tried IE too, to see if that would make a difference. Same results.

Shale

When you did the dial ***0,30#, 1, 1
what kind of voice responses did you hear in the phone?
