Hello,

I'm using Obi110 in Costa Rica. I need help with PSTN configuration settings. So far, I've found this forum:
http://forum.voxilla.com/threads/spa-3102-pstn-configuration-in-costa-rica.13334/
Ideally, I would like to have the full list of Costa Rican specs. However, if it takes time to find and assuming that the forum post
is correct, I need the following:
- translation from Linksys's notation of disconnect tone 425@-30,421@-30;4(.33/.33/1+2) to Obihai format
- information on how to configure DTMF to specified values: rfc2383, using AVT band, strict mode
Additionally, I noticed that in the first post user mentions default international settings for Linksys 3102 that are different from
default Obihai settings. Specifically, he has the following:
- Line In-Use Voltage - 30 (Obihai LineInUseVoltageThreshold = 25)
- Ring Freq/Max - 10/100 (Obihai 15/100)
- Ring Threshold - 13.5 - 16.5Vrms (Obihai 40.50 - 49.50)
I'm not sure if these Linksys's default settings are something that I should change Obihai to, or they aren't relevant
Please, help

As you know OBi describes their tone format in a section of the OBi Admin manual "Tone & Ring Patterns".  The Linksys/Cisco format is described here: http://forum.voxilla.com/threads/linksys-spa-regional-tab-settings.13664/

I don't know the proper disconnect tone for your country.  My guess for the conversion of the values you posted would be:
Linksys/Cisco:
425@-30,421@-30;4(.33/.33/1+2)

OBi:
425-30,421-30;4;(.33+.33)
which I believe says
   frequency 1 425Hz@-30db,
   frequency 2 421Hz@-30db,
One cadence of both frequencies lasting 4 seconds, 0.33sec on 0.33sec off

I note the 3AM Systems Database said the Costa Rica disconnect tone frequency is 450Hz.  They cut me off when I asked for more settings.  I saw a user posting that said El Salvador was 425@-30,425@-30;4(.32/.32/1+2) (Linksys/Cisco) which is close to the setting you found for Costa Rica.

For DTMF I would setup RFC2833 and X_UseFixedDurationRFC2833DTMF (Checked).  The Cisco AVT DTMF setting is the same as rfc2833.  The Cisco Strict/Normal setting has to do with how long the tone lasts before it is recognized as a dtmf tone (how long the caller pushes the key).  I think OBi's Fixed Duration RFC2833 setting is a good solution to dtmf problems.

The Line-In-Use setting has to do with the voltage level below which the line is considered to be in use.  Normally a PSTN Line is 48v when it is not in use, 7v when it is in use, so they set the threshold setting somewhere in the middle.  25 or 30 is pretty much the same setting.

I don't know anything about ring frequency min/max and threshold.  I see that both OBi and Cisco/Linksys have similiar available settings, just different default settings.  You would get more information on this if your OBi doesn't detect incoming call ringing from the PSTN line.
