Hello,

I need your help to configure my obi to answer automatically and send a * key after answering it.

Actually, when I recieve a call from a particular number, I want OBI to answer it automatically and send a * key automatically. Is that possible ?

Thanks for your help.

The first part is easy enough. Configure one of these inbound call routes with the CID you have in mind to pass the call directly to the AA:
X_InboundCallRoute
OBiTALK InboundCallRoute
POTS-line InboundCallRoute

ex: {(Mcot):aa,{ph} <- (whatever)

The second part is tricky because I don't think the OBi can be invoked to offer a "*" tone . As a work around it might be possible to trick the incoming call to listen to a DTMF tone as a recorded "*" tone within the AA message.

Here are some places to download dtmf sound files. You can Google other sites.

Hello,

Thanks for your reply. I have some problem with second part. The caller can't press any button. So I don't know how can I trick the incoming call to listen to a DTMF tone.

Thanks

I understood this to be an automated machine to machine call (Call->Obi). The second part of my explanation is to record the actual * tone on the automated attendant. This is the only way that I know how the OBi can return a * tone back to the incoming call. If this is what you want then you need to read up on how to change the voice prompts. The internal voice prompts can be anything you want, even a * tone. In other words it is not limited to only voice prompts.

Thanks for your clarification. I have an OBI110. I am trying to upload a wav file but I couldn't find anything to upload it (In Auto Attendant, I have User1Description but couldn't upload any file). Even in Obi Admin guide, I couldn't find this information.

Do you have any idea ? I want to replace the welcome message by this wav file.

Thanks

User Recorded Prompts

Use the search  feature of the browser to look up "User Recorded Prompts" in the web based version of the admin guide.

Note in this thread you will find a discussion of someone trying something similar to what you are trying to do. For some reason I don't think the tone was recognized. If it works for you let us know.

Good luck.

I'm not absolutely sure about this but there's something in the back of my mind that someone confirmed that mention of the individual wav file upload capability is erroneous.  Three methods are described on pages 38/39 of http://www.obihai.com/docs/OBiPLUSTutorial.pdf.  The second one definitely does not work on my OBi110 on latest firmware.  (Perhaps the file upload works on a master OBi in an OBiPlus network - but a 110 cannot be such a master anyway).

The OBi device admin guide says:

"The OBi supports 10 user recordable prompts which are referred to as the User1 to User10 prompt, respectively. See the section Telephone-IVR-Based Local Configuration on how they can be recorded, or the section Customized AA Prompts Backup & Restore on how they can be duplicated from one device onto another device."

which seems to only cover the first and third of the three methods in the OBiPlus document.

I think you can host prompt wav files on a server and enter URLs to them on the OBi but I've never tried that.
