Help-Obi to obi calls not working

I have set up 3 obi devices in 3 homes:
1. My home (US)
2. My parents (India)
3. My in-laws (India)

We usually use obi to obi calls. As of the last few days, 2 and 3 can call 1, but we (1) cannot call India.

I am presuming the problem is with my device. So far, restarted my device, but it did not help. I have not done much with the device, so pretty much a newbie.

I got the same problem. I have two phones and one soft phone under one account:

A - via OBi202 in CA (Comcast)
B - via OBi100 in NY (RCN)
C(soft) - via HTC One in CA (Comcast)

All three were working fine until last Friday (7/18). Now whenever I try to make the OBiTalk call from A to either B or C I will get a busy tone. But A doesn't have any issue when receiving the OBiTalk call from either B or C. everything works fine between B and C. A still works fine when making and receiving normal phone call. I re-powered OBi200 without any luck. Does anyone have idea on how the issue can be resolved? Thanks

Can 1/A make calls to the test number **9 222 222 222 ?

obeewankeenobee

Good idea. I will test it as soon as I get back from work.
The other calls to US based phone numbers, routed through my vestalink number, are just fine.
Yesterday:
a. Hard reset the instrument through the reset button at the bottom.
b. Soft reset through ***6.
c. Deleted Vestalink and then reinstalled.

Nothing has worked.

How are you calling the other OBi?
Are you dialing **9123456789 where 123456789 is the OBi number of the target device?
You can also setup a speed dial like this: pp(ob123456789)
Are you getting any error message?

Check the OBi call history for errors.
From an internet browser enter the IP address of the OBi.
The UserID is admin
Click on Status
Click on Call History

You can try deleting the OBi from the dashboard, then re-adding it.
All obi's should have a green status indicator in the dashboard.

I checked the call history. There is no error message at all. There is just one line of entry for each failed call:
22:50:52   From PH1   To PP1(ob222222222)

Its indicator on Obi Dashboard is always green. I haven't tried deleting and re-adding the device from the dashboard. Will this affect any existing settings on this device (i.e. Obi202)?

First, I had the same problem except my OBi status wasn't green. OBihai support had me delete my OBi from the dashboard and reset it to factory settings. This fixed the problem for me.

You will lose your OBitalk configuration when you delete your OBi from the dashboard. Then when you add the OBi back to the dashboard, OBiTalk will download a default configuration.

I DON'T use OBiTalk to configure my OBi.
This is how I restored my configuration.
Do a configuration backup. This does not backup passwords.
Log into the OBi via Web interface.
Go to System Management -> Device Update
Under Backup Configuration click Use OBi Version
Click Backup

After Reset and re-adding to dashboard:
Go to System Management -> Device Update
Under restore Configuration click Browse and find the backup.
Click Restore.
Add passwords.

If you use OBiTalk to configure the OBi I THINK this is how to restore the config .
After Reset and re-adding to dashboard:
Click OBi Expert Configuration.
In Saved Configure File click browse and find Backup file.
Click Import to OBi Expert.
Add your passwords.

Maybe someone who has done this can verify my procedure.

**9222222222 gave me the busy tone.

The other party usually calls **9xxxxxxxx. I have set up these numbers in speed dial. All they do is call the speed dial number as 2# or 3#.

How do you log into the call history. I do not see it on obitalk which is what I use.

Mine is now working again, mysteriously :o Guess there was something wrong on OBiTalk side...

Call history is only visible from the device's local web server pages.  There is no problem to LOOK at anything on those pages.  Potential problems only arise if you try to CHANGE anything there and you have used OBiTalk for configuration.

Mine is now working too  ;D. Probably something wrong on Obi's side.
Thank you all for all the help and advice.
