Is it possible to use multiple OBI devices with Google Voice?  That is for different locations.

SteveInWA

Yes, as long as those devices are OBi 200 or 202 or 1032 series.  The OBi 100 and 110 don't support simultaneous ringing for multiple devices connected to Google Voice.

Thanks for the reply.  Would it work if just one of them were from the 200 series, i.e., one is a 110 and the other a 200?

SteveInWA

No.  All devices need to be 200, 202, or 1000 series.  The 1xx will only ring if it is the only registered OBi device.

Given the sale on the 200s, just buy a 200 to take the place of the 110, as long as you don't need the POTS line jack on the 110.

Thanks for the clarification.  Unfortunately these aren't so cheap outside the US.

nmstough,

A no-cost option is to use call forking. Something like this:

Each OBi device can fork an incoming call to a maximum of four endpoints. The phone attached to the OBi is normally one of these endpoints, so you can "simul-ring" another three OBi devices. Using the OBiTALK network for this purpose costs nothing and will pass the original CallerID if it exists.

The only downside is that you are adding another "leg" to the call. Most users who use this method have not reported that as being a problem.
