How to make Duplex Rings (Distintive Rings) work on 2 Obi110?

My PSTN line owned 2 no. (12345678 & 87654321) and 2 distintive rings for the user to identify which no. is calling in. My plan is to connect the PSTN line into 2 Obi110 (A & B) and would like the corresponding Obi will pick up the call according to the incoming calling no. says

12345678 > Obi110 A
87654321 > Obi110 B

How can make it work?

I've never encountered anything in the documentation or any settings in the OBi that would indicate there is any suipport for distinctive ring detection on the LINE Port.

Since both numbers ring on the same line, call management can only be done by caller id. And the caller id would be for the incoming calls, not your PSTN lines.

Since Distinctive ring has a very special ring cadence composition, you might be able to distinguish lines by changing the ring validation time on LINE port.

The related setting would be:  Physical Interface --> LINE port --> Ring Detection --> RingValidationTime

What "RingValidationTime" does is to examine the minimum time period of ring burst, and it provides a range of 100 ms to 1024 ms.

Let's say you have two lines, one has cadence: 2 seconds ON, 4 seconds OFF, and the other one has cadence: 0.8 seconds ON + 0.8 seconds OFF + 0.8 seconds ON + 8 seconds off. If you set "RingValidationTime" to 1024 ms, then, only the first line is able to ring your OBi unit, and the second line will fail to ring your OBi unit because it does not have long enough ring burst. If you set "RingValidationTime" to 512 ms, then, incoming call on either line will ring your OBi unit.

So the best you can do is to change "RingValidationTime" configuration on your units (say 256 ms on one unit, 1024 ms on the other unit), then, you have one unit rings for the line with long ring bursts, and the other unit rings for both lines.

Thanks LeftRight, will try when I back home next week. It makes sense to me it will work.

I tried to adjust both Obi A's & Obi B's RingValidationTime but no luck to make it completely sucessful.

Currently, Obi A will on all the time no matter which incoming phone no. be dialed (people dialed 12345678 OR 87654321) and Obi B will ring only when people dialed 87654321.

Any more hint can make Obi A just ring when 12345678 be dialed? Thanks.
