Good info on the MOCA Bridge, so thanks OzarkEdge.  Spoke to Verizon tech support today and they were not very helpful to say the least.  They wanted me to get the IP address that I am connecting to for VoIP services before they would go any further so they could test my connection between me and my provider to see where the lag/Jitter is. I am not sure how to get whatever IP I am hitting with Google when GV is being used, do you?  I thought maybe I'd log traffic on my LAN from the IP assigned to the Obi whenever I make a call, but I haven't figured out how to do that yet in the FIOS router admin interface.  Guess I'll need to brush up on my old WireShark skills or something.  Anyone here have any other thoughts or ideas on how I can find out if my Jitter problem is a Verizon issue vs. a GV issue?  This is a PITA, but I'd be thankful for any suggestions.
