Is it possible to have the phone attached to the Obi200 ring differently based on which of the 4 linked accounts the call is coming from?

azrobert

Yes. Just select a different ring tone for each SP trunk.

Voice Services -> SPx Service -> X_DefaultRing

The different ring tones are found here:
Ring Settings -> Ring Profile A

The ring tones can be modified.

QuoteThere are two ring profiles on the OBi. If you want to make SP2 ring differently:
1. Login to www.obitalk.com
2. Click your OBi
3. Click "OBi Expert Configuration"
4. -> Voice Service -> SP2 Service
Change X_RingProfile to "B"

... but that only allows 2 profiles. Your method seems to allow 4.

There is 2 ring profiles (A and B) and 10 ring patterns for each profile, so you have 20 choices. If you don't like the choices the ring patterns can be modified.

I'm getting two short rings for the default setting (X_RingProfile = B).  When I change it to A, I get one short ring.

I would like the normal, (repeating) one-long ring.

I tried changing the check boxes from "ObiTalk Settings" to "Device Defaults" under Ring Settings, for Ring Pattern 2.  But this stopped the ringing completed as all calls went straight to voicemail.  I had to reset and then power off and power on the Obihai202 to get the ringing back.

How do I know which ring pattern is being used and how do I select the ring pattern for the normal, (repeating) one-long ring?

azrobert

It's the combination of X_RingProfile and X_DefaultRing.

The patterns are located here:
Ring Settings -> Ring Profile A/B

curt00

Which ring pattern provides the normal (repeating), one-long ring?

azrobert

Ring Profile A and Ring Pattern 1

60;(2+4)

60 = Phone will ring for a max 60 seconds.

2 = phone will ring for 2 seconds
4 = silence for 4 seconds
Repeat for 60 seconds

This is the standard US ring pattern.

curt00

I chose that.  But now I get one short ring (less than a fraction of a second).

I changed:

60;(2+4)

to:

60;(3+4)

but I still get the same thing.

I don't think the problem can be caused by my Nortel analog phone, as it worked fine with my analog lines and identicall (distinctive) rings.

Any other suggestions?

azrobert

That's close to a standard ring.
Try something more distinctive like: 60;(4+2)

curt00

I tried 60;(4+2) but still got the short one-ring.
