I received calls in my land line thru Obi110 and I answer in my DD number with voip.

The question is: Can I do the same backwards?

If I am out of the office overseas, and I need to make a local call thru my landline connected thru my Obi110 using voip app can this be done?

Regards,

JJ

The default is to use an **8 prefix to the dialed number to route the call to the Line port.
If the numbers you want routed to the land line are unique (like 7 digits or certain area codes) the configuration can be modified to eliminate the prefix.

What type of equipment do you want to use (Android, iPhone or ?)  to call the OBi110?
Is the OBi110 located overseas?
What providers to you have defined on the OBi110?

Tunaman

I will use Android ( Bria ) to call obi110

Yes the Obi is located overseas.

I have no providers set up yet. I was thinking using Voipms on SP1

So the prefix **8 can be dialed from the Bria app in order to route the call to the line port?

Ignore everything I said. I didn't read your post correctly and was talking about calling from the Phone Port.

How is the OBi setup to route calls to your Android? I assume you're getting these calls on your Android. You must have Bria registered to a service and the routing the call to your ID at this service. What service is it?

Can Bria call without registration? I don't think it can. You can't register Bria to the OBi110, so you will have to use a SIP service provider. Maybe the one you are already using. When setup this way it will be a 2 stage process. You call the OBi110 via the service provider and you are sent to the Auto Attendant. Then you follow the prompts to make your outbound call.

The CsipSimple Android app can dial without registration, so you can call out directly.
You need to decide which method.
1st tell me how you're setup now.

Tunaman

My Obi is not setup yet. I will set it up using voip.ms   I wanted to get it right from the start, and so I waited to find out the right setup.

I was using Bria before in another setup and I already paid for the G729 codec, so that was the reason to use Bria.

But if the other setup is easier, then I will use CsipSimple.

Log into your account
Click the Extensions tab then Add New Extension
3) Add credentials for extension 101 from step 2 to Bria

Dial 100 from Bria
You will be connected to the OBi110's Auto Attendant

Here is another method I forgot about:
http://www.obitalk.com/forum/index.php?topic=5411.0

It's a more complex setup, but uses single stage dialing and you won't use the Auto Attendant. Also, PBXes is located in Europe and might be closer to you.

Tunaman

Thank you so much!

I cant change the values in expert mode, they are grey out.  What am I doing wrong?

Im sure its something simple

Tunaman

Never mind. I figure it out. Thanks for everything, its working perfectly.

PBXes.org has more than 1 server location, including USA and Japan IIRC.

Tunaman

Can you please show me the Csipsimple way to do it?

I'm tired of having to dial 2 and the then the number manually. Is it easier the other way? So I can simply dial directly from my phone contacts without having to manually enter the phone number.

Thanks
