Title: Help! How to find right match for service provider features and service
Post by: m1-voip on July 21, 2015, 01:58:26 AM
Planning first ever setup on Obi-202 initially for a single small business line - any experience or suggestions much appreciated!

Basics:

-Low volume right now

-95% of outgoing / incoming calls to USA numbers from N. California

-Consistent voice quality / Low latency really important

-Outgoing CNAM - to show it's our business calling

-Incoming CNAM / CID - so we can look up customer faster

-New phone number or transfer of old number

-Voicemail

-Helpful if calls from certain geo regions can be blocked, its a sales /support line.

-Hassle free, responsive customer service

So far, reading through the forum  narrowed down to Voip.ms, however no real experience
with any of the approved obi service providers.

Thank you!

I think Voip.ms would be an excellent choice.

I think they would meet most of your requirements if not all.

I have been a customer for a few years now and although I'm not a heavy user, I have no complaints about their service.

Tech support has always been fast and effective for any issues I had.

There are of course other providers that would also meet your requirements, but I don't think you would go wrong by choosing Voip.ms

Good luck!

I also like and recommend Voip.Ms but there are a few suggestions I will make:

Create an account and explore all the options.

It is not obvious but if you wish to call Hawaii, you must enable International calling. I cannot say if Alaska is a similar issue. Customer Service can help if need be. There is no specific checkbox for Hawaii.

I always set up extensions rather than use the main account.

I also make sure that I record a name and greeting for each voicemail account. Otherwise it is answered with "The person at extension" and then your cryptic account number is used.
